Welcome to Superquarium
this blog will teach about the required maintenance and setup for the marine aquarium.
If you are a beginner, you are probably wondering many things about the marine aquarium like how to set a system up and what day to day maintenance is required for a marine system is. If you have asked a question above or have other questions you've came to the perfect place.

SETUP OF A MARINE AQUARIUM
Setting up a marine aquarium takes patience and hard work. since saltwater fish are more delicate and fragile than freshwater fish, you need to be very careful by paying attention to water quality, feeding, filtration and much more. Marine aquariums come in a variety of shapes and sizes, if you can't find a tank that suits you there are some great custom aquarium companies out there that can make any shape that you want. after you get your aquarium to it's location you can fill it with saltwater. You can buy 2 different types of saltwater, pre-mixed or salt that you can mix on your own with dechlorinated water. If you are buying a bigger tank it is more cost effective and easier to buy salt to mix yourself. If you are buying a smaller aquarium premixed is just fine, but for any aquarium you can do either, they both work the same. Live sand is important to a marine aquarium you need with any saltwater system. Live rock is only needed if you want corals in your aquarium, though there are a few fish that need live rock for a supply of food. After waiting 24-48 hours you can try adding a few Damselfish or Clownfish to your setup. You must take it slow or else you will not have as much success.

LIVESTOCK FOR A MARINE AQUARIUM
When it comes to adding livestock to your marine system you need to watch what your buying. When buying saltwater fish of invertebrates you need to make sure if it will fit in your tank, meaning that it needs to be suitable to your amount of gallons, and if you can supply a food source for its needs. two books I highly recommend are Marine Fishes by Scott W. Michael and Marine Inverts by Ronald L. Shimek, P.H.D. These books are great for figuring out what livestock you can add to your tank.

FISH FOOD
There are many types of fish food out on the market. it really depends on what fish you are thinking about purchasing. some fish eat fish flakes, some need to be supplied with live food, and others need to be put in a mature tank with live foods developed in the system. Many of the fish that require a mature tank are beautiful fish but cannot be added for a very long time. Clownfish and Damselfish are some of the most hardy fish for a marine system. They also are not extremely picky eaters. they will eat fish flakes which are cheep and you don't have to buy as often. With some aggressive fish you need to watch what size fish you put them with, they could eat the smaller fish as food. corals are animals so they need to eat too. corals in captive care are fed on special liquid formulas that you can put in a dropper and release near the coral.
MAINTENANCE
It is important to perform routine maintenance on your marine aquarium. It is important to do partial water changes regularly to maintain good water quality for your livestock. It is important to test the quality of your water regularly to make sure all chemicals are at the right amount needed to maintain good water quality. Make sure you clean your tank. Filters do a good job of cleaning your tank but is important to regularly clean your tank because your filter can't clean everything. You need to with a bucket of saltwater from your water change, then put the filter media back in the filter. It is also a must do to empty your protein skimmer waste collection cup weekly.
