THE BASICS OF BASKETBALL

Basketball is a sport that has two teams with 5 people on the court for each team. The court that you play basketball on has a hoop for each team to shoot on and if the basketball goes in the hoop you get points and that's how you win the game by having more points. For a basketball team there are 5 positions, Point Guard, Shooting Guard, Small Forward, Power Forward, and Center. In basketball the team with the ball is the offense and their goal is to score points with the ball, while the defenses goal is to not allow any points from the offense and get the ball from them.

THE NBA

The NBA is a pro Basketball league for America and Toronto which is in Canada. It is made up of 30 teams with at least 14 people on each team. Each team has a starting 5 which is composed of the teams 5 best players for each position. Then as the game goes on for a total of 48 minutes the coach subs in players to give other players breaks. The NBA season consists of 82 games and the teams that place top in their division by winning the most games make it to playoffs. Then for the final match you play a series of 7 games and the first to win 4 games wins the NBA Finals.

In Basketball there are 5 positions, Point Guard, Shooting Guard, Small Forward, Power Forward, Center. The point guards job is to bring the ball up the court and get the ball moving on offense so its easier for the offense to score. The shooting guard and small forwards job is to play around the three point line because they are better shooters and its easier for them to score points from shooting. The job of the power forward and center is to play inside of the three point line also known as the paint, and they shoot from near the hoop because they are worse shooters but they are bigger and more powerful so they shoot from right near the hoop to score points.

The NBA has many good players but I am going to tell you the top 10 players in the NBA this year according to Bleacher Report. The tenth best player this season is DeMarcus Cousins who plays the center position for the New Orleans Pelicans but he just got recently traded to the Golden State Warriors. The ninth best player this season is Chris Paul who plays point guard for the Houston Rockets. The eight best player this season is Russell Westbrook who plays point guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder and has been averaging a triple double for the past two seasons in row. The seventh best player this season is Anthony Davis who plays power forward on the New Orleans Pelicans. The sixth best player this season is Kawhi Leonard who plays small forward for the San Antonio Spurs. The fifth best player this season is Kevin Durant who plays Small Forward for the Golden State Warriors. The fourth best player this season is Giannis Antetokounmpo who plays small forward for the Milwaukee Bucks. The third best player this season is James Harden who plays shooting guard for the Houston Rockets. The second best player this season is Steph Curry who play point guard for the Golden State Warriors. The best player this season and arguably the best player ever is LeBron James who plays small forward for the Cleveland Cavaliers but recently got traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.
